Providenciales, 27 Nov 2014 – We are in the final countdown for the 11th Annual Conch Festival. The event happens on Saturday, November 29 at 3 Queens Bar & Restaurant in Blue Hills on Providenciales starting at 12noon.
The program is as follows:
12noon – Opening and Welcome by MC
12noon – 5:30pm – Conch tasting – winner to be determined by popular vote
12:30pm – Breezy Beach Dancers
1:00 pm – Music by local band
2:00 – Conch blowing competition
2:30 – Santa Arrives
3:00pm – Mojito Contest
3:45 – Conch knocking competition
4:30pm – Junk-a-noo rush
6:00pm – Announcement of winners, Rotary Pot of Gold drawing and special presentations
7:00pm – Junk-a-noo rush
7:30pm – Music by local band

Tasting tickets cost $25 and allows you to taste the delicious recipes from each restaurant and then vote for your favourite as “Best in Show.” Last year’s winner, Hemingway’s, will be there to defend their title along with many more trying to unseat them this year. Your tasting ticket also allows you to taste and vote for our home kitchen contestants.
The festival venue will be secured by the Royal Turks and Caicos Police Force with help from Platinum Security. Only those vehicles with VIP passes will be allowed to pass thru the Police barricades. Parking is available at the Bethany Baptist Church parking lot.
A shuttle van will be available to pick up and return guests from the hotels all day on Saturday for $10 per person round trip. Call 241-4465 for reservations.
NO BOTTLES or COOLERS, HARD OBJECTS – made of metal. wood or material constituting a hard object, NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND, or EXPLOSIVES will be allowed on festival grounds. This policy will be strictly enforced by the Police and Security. Any person found in violation of the above will be escorted off the premises by the Police and/or security.
The TCSPCA will be on hand selling their 2015 calendar and the Junior Achievement group, Island Treasures, will be selling pastries, candies, snow cones and cotton candy.
