Bahamas, April 20, 2017 – Nassau – The fire is burning in a straight line and in a peculiar or new area which has caused the Minister of Environment, Kenred Dorsett to conclude that it was a deliberate act which ignited a new blaze at the city dump.

Since Wednesday after 3am, fire crews have been trying to extinguish the blaze which is being fanned by the winds. Police also got involved by walking through the surrounding neighbourhoods to check the impact of smoke on communities like Jubilee Gardens.

Tall Pines MP, Leslie Miller was among those at the site yesterday to review the situation and suggested that security be beefed up following some physical changes which include tall fencing and a perimeter road to allow security guard vehicle patrols.
