Bahamas gives State funeral to noted choir director

Nassau, Bahamas July 18, 2017 — The late founder and director of the Bahamas National Youth Choir Cleophas Adderley will get a State funeral according to a Cabinet announcement.

After a long illness, Adderley, 62, died at Doctors Hospital on July 5. In June, Adderley was awarded the Bahamian Icon Awards Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in youth development.

The public is invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, July 22 at 10am at Christ Church Cathedral, George Street. There will also be a memorial service on tomorrow, Thursday, July 20 at 6:30pm at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Stapleton Gardens. Viewing for the public will also take place at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity from 12pm to 5pm on Friday, July 21.
