Salvation Army gets big gift to boost donations; One Week at the Palms Resort

Providenciales, 03 Dec 2015 – The Red Kettle of the Salvation Army is now live at various shopping centers around the country but new honorary chairman, Stan Hartling has taken giving to the organization to an entirely new level.

When you donate a specific amount, you not only help the Salvation Army to reach closer to its goal of raising $50,000, but you are entered to win a seven day getaway at the Palms Resort; one of Hartling’s hotels in Provo. With $50 you get an entry form; but donate $150 and get four entries, $250 to get seven entries and $500 will earn you 15 contest entries.

The prize is valued at $7,000. There is also a website where on-line donations can be made: www.tcikettle.com. Or, donations can be dropped off at The Sands on Grace Bay or The Palms.

Morgan Heritage Member dies

#MorganHeritage#PeterMorgan, February 26th, 2024 – Peter Morgan, member of the Grammy Winning Jamaican Reggae Band Morgan Heritage, died on Sunday February 25th at the age of 46. His family made the announcement on Instagram, however the cause of his death was not mentioned. Morgan Heritage, an all family group, children to Jamaican reggae artist Denroy Morgan, was known for hits like “She’s Still loving me.”

Jamaica Local Govt Elections held

#Jamaica#LocalGovElections, February 26th, 2024 – Jamaica’s long awaited local government elections were held today February 26th, after being postponed on several occasions since November of 2020. Reports indicate that just over two million Jamaicans are eligible to vote and that the electoral system was well prepared with a total of 6,726 polling stations in 2,148 locations across the island, open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Voters selected from 496 nominated candidates across the island. The date for results is yet to be announced

Ariel Henry to Finalize Agreement with Kenya for Multinational Force – Could Bring Political Tensions.

#Haiti#Kenya#ArielHenry, February 26th, 2024 – Haiti’s Prime Minister Ariel Henry is flying to Nairobi Kenya on Tuesday February 27th, to finalize the paperwork with Kenyan authorities for the deployment of the multinational force. However, the legitimacy of anything he agrees to or signs is already being questioned because Haiti currently has no parliament and Henry should have demitted office since February 7.
