Cruise figures forecast to drop, says Tourism Director

Providenciales, 11 Mar 2016 – Tourism arrivals by cruise ship are expected to dip according to the TCI Tourist Board Director, who yesterday gave a financial report to the Appropriations Committee of the House of Assembly.

Ralph Higgs (TCI Tourist Board Director) explained that much of the reason has been publicized and refrained from recapping some of the discrepancies in the Grand Turk vacation experience.

What Mr. Higgs would say, is that negative activities on the main beach for cruise passengers is impacting interest in Grand Turk.

It was also reported that for the first time in the Tourist Board’s history, there will be a Deputy Director and that staff at the board is expected to be augmented with the hiring of eight new recruits.
