Turks and Caicos, December 27, 2024 – The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF), through its Community Policing Unit and Police Band, spread Christmas cheer across the Turks and Caicos Islands with their annual Christmas Tour during early December 2024. This initiative aimed to share the spirit of the season with music, gifts, and a warm presence throughout the islands.
The tour began on Providenciales, where an impressive turnout of primary and high school students enjoyed performances by their peers and the RTCIPF Police Band. A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to the winners of the Governor’s | Commissioner of Police Post Card Competition. Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam Governor of the TCI and Ag. Assistant Commissioner Dwight Gardiner personally attended to present the awards, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Next, the team visited South Caicos, where residents were treated to joyful music, Christmas entertainment, and gift distributions. This was followed by stops in North Caicos and Middle Caicos, where heartfelt appreciation was expressed by the communities. Residents were particularly grateful for the officers’ efforts in engaging with the youth and bringing holiday cheer to their islands.
The grand finale took place in Grand Turk, where the event drew a large crowd, especially excited children. The Police Band delivered lively performances, and the joy of gift-giving brought smiles to the faces of all in attendance. The Christmas Tour left an indelible mark on the hearts of residents throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Acting Inspector Huntley Forbes, head of the Community Policing Unit, expressed his gratitude for the success of the initiative:
“I want to first express my thanks to the members of my unit, who not only shared the vision but worked tirelessly to bring it to life. I also extend my heartfelt appreciation to our collaborators and sponsors, including Experience TCI, the Ministry of Education, Kishco Trading TCI, Caicos Express, InterCaribbean, Provo Water, Wine Cellar, Regency Christie’s, Provo Electric, Cairsea, Tropical Shipping, and many others. This success would not have been possible without your generous support.”
He added: “Our unit is dedicated to serving the communities of the TCI to the best of our ability. We are your family, and we want you to feel that connection.”
The Christmas Tour brought profound joy and happiness to all the islands and has set the stage for future initiatives to strengthen the bond between the RTCIPF and the communities it serves.
