Weekend Robberies Investigation, one victim reports Sexual Assault
Turks and Caicos, August 8, 2024 – Officers of the Serious Crimes Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Force are investigating three robberies that occurred over the weekend in Providenciales.
Based on preliminary reports, at around 1:45 am today (August 04th), the Police Control Room received a report that a female Kew Town resident had arrived home and was approached by two masked, armed males demanding money.
The victim started screaming, which alerted relatives. The robbers then ran off.
The victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment, having been struck during the ordeal.
Shortly after 6 pm on August 03rd, an All Points Bulletin was aired following a report lodged by a female victim. The victim indicated
that while leaving an establishment behind Courtyard Plaza, she was accosted by two armed males who proceeded to rob her.
The suspects ran off and escaped.
Also, yesterday, the RT&CIPF received a robbery report involving a male and female minor. Initial investigations state that at around 8:27 pm, both minors were at the Kid’s Park, Lower Bight, when they were approached by two masked males who demanded money from them.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers combed the entire area and, based on information received, subsequently visited the residence of the female victim, who alleged that the armed suspects sexually assaulted her.
Detectives of the Safeguarding and Public Protection Unit are continuing inquiries.
The RT&CIPF is asking the public to avoid venturing into lonely and poorly illuminated areas.
Stay alert, travel in groups, and report suspicious activities.

Turks and Caicos, 05th January, 2025 – Officers from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) Serious Crime Unit are investigating a shooting that occurred this morning in Wheeland, Blue Hills.
At approximately 7:00 a.m., the Police Control Room received reports of gunshots near the basketball court in Wheeland. Officers promptly responded to the scene, where they discovered a 54-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim was driving a blue Honda Fit when he offered a ride to an individual. During the journey, the passenger demanded to be dropped off at a specific location. When the victim refused, he was shot by the passenger.
The suspect subsequently fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, which police later recovered.
The RTCIPF is urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward.

Turks and Caicos, December 31, 2024 – Six individuals, including a female minor, have been charged with various firearm-related offences following investigations conducted by the Serious Crime Unit.
The accused are expected to appear in the Magistrate’s Court next week.
On December 24th, 24-year-old SMALEY LOUIS was charged with the following offences:
- One count of Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Cause Fear. One count of Gang Membership.
On December 26th, officers charged twin brothers GIVESON MARC and GUBERSON MARC.
The brothers, aged 20, are charged with the following offences:
- One count of Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Cause Fear.
- One count of Possession of Ammunition.
- One count of Gang Membership.
The charges against Mr Louis and the Marc brothers were laid following investigations into an incident reported on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
On Thursday, December 26, 2024, the following individuals from Dock Yard, Providenciales, were charged:
- ROSEMIRLINE PIERRE, 24
- WOODSON GAY,23, and
- A 15-year-old female -Given that the accused is a minor, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force cannot name nor release her photograph.
The accused face the following charges:
- One count of Possession of Ammunition.
- One count of Illegal Entry.
These charges stemmed from an operation in Dock Yard on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
