TCI Airports Authority Works Underway, late night closure of airport

#TurksandCaicos, March 22, 2021 – The Turks & Caicos Airports Authority (TCIAA) in collaboration with the Turks & Caicos Islands Road Safety and Transportation Department and the Royal Turks & Caicos Islands Police Force, hereby inform the General Public that during the Airport’s closure between 10:00 pm and 4:00 am daily, vehicular access to the Providenciales International Airport will be restricted.

Pivot barriers are installed at the Providenciales International Airport main entrance/ exit to facilitate access control during the closure times. In the event of emergencies, a Security Officer will provide access to emergency and other approved vehicles ONLY. The Royal Turks & Caicos Islands Police will have full access during the hours of closure. This measure corresponds with the Aviation Security Regulations to protect Airports’ Public landside areas, including Terminal Buildings and other Landside Facilities. The restriction comes into effect Thursday 1st April, 2021 (tentative). Please be guided accordingly. TCIAA is committed to ensuring Airport Security and Safety compliance.

Closure of Cockpit Lounge in Grand Turk

The Turks & Caicos Airports Authority (TCIAA) wishes to inform the General Public that the Cockpit Lounge Restaurant at the JAGS McCartney International Airport Grand Turk has been closed until further notice . TCIAA wishes to apologize for any inconvenience caused. END

Guyana’s financial support for Palestine

#Palestine#Guyana, April 24, 2024 – A cheque of over GY$110 million which is USD$500 thousand, was presented to President Irfaan Ali, at a handover ceremony on April 23, in support of Palestine for Humanitarian efforts, according to reports.

The money, raised by Muslims and non Muslims, comes after an appeal by the National Ramadan Village during the month of Ramadan.

It will be sent to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) to help the victims of the ongoing war.

Royal Caribbean Cancels Haiti Trips

#Haiti#RoyalCaribbean, April 26, 2024- Royal Caribbean has decided to cancel all of its trips to Labadee, a popular destination in Haiti due to the worsening crisis, putting further strain on the country’s tourism sector. Cancellations were initially set to last until mid March but now they have been extended through the summer into September, according to a post by Royal Caribbean. A spokesperson for the organization is reported saying the Global Security and Intel team is monitoring the situation in Haiti, further expressing that the cancellations come as the safety and security of its guests are top priority.

Haiti Transitional Council Sworn in- Henry Officially Resigns

He publicly announced his resignation in a post on Facebook. This follows Henry’s promise last month to exit office after gang members blocked his return to Haiti from Kenya.
