#TurksandCaicosIslands – December 10, 2020 – Active cases shot up by five in Turks and Caicos as reflected in the December 8 Covid-19 dashboard, brining positive infections in the country on Tuesday to 761 since the coronavirus was first detected in country in March.
“The number of persons in quarantine/observation has increased to 96. This includes: Confirmed cases (14), primary and secondary contacts of confirmed cases (82) – Zero (0) persons are quarantined in a government facility,” said the Ministry of Health in its most recent update.
At the time, there were 14 active cases, all of which are on the island of Providenciales. No new recoveries are recorded and the National Public Health Laboratory had recorded 89 new tests.
Deaths as a result of the virus remain at six people and recoveries were, on Tuesday December 8, recorded at 740.
