#Providenciales, July 30, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – The culinary scene in the Turks and Caicos Islands is heating up especially along Grace Bay in Providenciales… coming later in August, the first branded restaurant in decades will open, with Australian inspired Outback Steakhouse.
But more recently it was the spread on world’s #1 Grace Bay Beach that really drew foodies out in paradise.
“We find that people wanted to experience what the competition dishes where in Miami, and what got them the gold medal, what got them the silver medal, what got them the bronze, so we thought we would bring what we did in Miami home and give everyone an opportunity to participate in this.” – Stacy Cox, CEO – Turks and Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association
The medal winners from this past June’s Taste of the Caribbean culinary competition unveiled their winning entrees.
“The team has just been awesome. I’m so proud of the team, I’m so proud of their hard work, so proud of their dedication and the love, and of course their passion.” – Chec Edwin Gallarrdo, Team Leader
Up the strip, also along Grace Bay Beach, was a new Caribbean restaurant renaming, rebranding, reintroduction… Caribbean Element has shifted from purely Mediterranean to a combination which proved tasty for attendees
“We have island food with an international flair to it. We are here for families, everyone, people from all over the Caribbean, from all over the world are definitely welcomed.” – Omar Denton, Managing Director – Caribbean Element
“The food has been absolutely amazing, they’ve handed out some great jerk chicken, some great ribs, the drinks have all been made well, everything has been quick, it’s been just a really good experience.” – guest
