TCI: Governor Appoints New Complaints Commissioner

#GrandTurk, June 20, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – H.E. the Governor, Dr. John Freeman is pleased to welcome Mr. Paul Harvey as the new Complaints Commissioner within the Office of the Complaints Commission (Ombudsman).

Born on the island of Grand Turk, Mr. Harvey attended both primary and secondary schools in Grand Turk.  Enlisted in the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force in 1971 and retired in 2005 at the rank of Commissioner of Police

Commenting on his appointment Mr. Harvey stated:  “The appointment of Complaints Commissioner (Ombudsman) will present challenges, however I will conduct the business of the Complaints Commission effectively, efficiently, with honesty and fairness.  The office will continue to condemn maladministration and promote fairness, justice and harmony in the advancement of Good Governance.”

H.E. the Governor, Dr. John Freeman, would also like to thank Mrs. Cynthia Astwood for the invaluable services she provided during the past four and a half years as the Complaints Commissioner.  Mrs. Astwood acted in accordance with the highest professional standards at all times.
