Serious concerns now in Blue Hills as spate of armed thefts, home invasions and hostage robbery reported by TCI Police

#TurksandCaicos, February 5, 2018 – Providenciales – Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are investigating the following reports over the last few days:

On Sunday, February 4th  2018, at 11:45 p.m., a man in the Snake Hill area, on Millennium Highway, contacted 911 after he and his wife were awakened by two males with handguns, one dressed in blue pants and a blue T-Shirt and the other in a green shirt and blue pants.  The culprits made way with money and two cellular phones.

Also on Sunday, February 4th, 2018 at 11:50 p.m. a man of Millennium Highway requested police assistance after he was awakened by two males with handguns. According to the complainant, one of the males was wearing a blue shirt and pants and the other, a green shirt and blue pants.  The culprits got away with two Samsung galaxy phones and $25.00USD cash.

On Monday February 5th, 2018 at 12:47 a.m., 911 Central received a report that a man was at home in Snake Hill, Millennium Highway, when a male dressed in black, entered his house with a firearm and took his cellphone and money and fled the scene.

On Monday February 5th, 2018 at 12:59 a.m. another resident of Snake Hill, reported to 911 that two masked men entered his apartment, both with firearms and demanded money.  A watch, cellphone and money were taken.  The culprits fled by foot.

On Monday February 5th, 2018 at 12:48 a.m., A man contacted 911 and reported that he was held at gun point at his home by a masked man in Blue Hills . The culprit left with $65.00USD.

On Monday February 5th, 2018, the 911 Centre received a report of a Robbery in the Blue Hills area.  The complainant stated that he and a friend were approached by two armed males, one wearing all black, the other- all white. Taken were, two cellphones, watch, and identification cards.

Also on Monday, February 5th, 2018, at 3:13 a.m., a man contacted the 911 Centre to report a burglary in Blue Hills.  Among items missing were one black wallet, one Samsung Galaxy phone value $350.00USD, a Black Hand bag and a cream color hand bag.

Police are also investigating a report made on Monday February 5th, 2018 by a man of Boddle Way, Blue Hills, who stated that between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. he was forced to leave his home with gunmen to drive to the ATM Machine.  $300USD was taken from the complainant’s home, while he was forced to withdraw $1000USD from the ATM machine.

The complainant described the culprits as two masked males, one dark in complexion, about 5 feet 7 inches, slim build, wearing dark clothing, with both hands covered with socks.   The second male was dark complexion about 6 feet tall, slim build, wearing dark clothing, and both hands covered with socks.

InvestTCI facilitates the Development Agreement Between TCIG and Molo Hotel Group

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – May 14th, 2024 – The Turks and Caicos Islands Government and Molo Hotel Group reached a pivotal juncture on Monday, May 13th, 2024, with the ceremonial signing of a development agreement at the Premier’s Office on Providenciales. The agreement, which received official Cabinet approval on March 13th, 2024, signifies a steadfast commitment to advancing the economic landscape of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Molo Hotel Group is a family-owned business, renowned for its distinguished portfolio of high-quality hotels worldwide. The development initiative encompasses the construction of three distinct IHG branded hotels: InterContinental Turks and Caicos, Kimpton Turks and Caicos and Hotel Indigo Turks and Caicos. Scheduled for completion by 2027, each resort boasts a distinctive design from luxury to laidback sophistication spanning across the shores of Grace Bay Beach.

Kimpton Turks and Caicos – an epitome of luxury lifestyle living, will feature 192 guest rooms including three outdoor pools, a luxury spa and a fitness center. Additionally, seven dining options ranging from a beachfront restaurant to a rooftop bar.

This project will bring economic growth, embrace local talent, and enrich our economy.”

Male Charged with Robbery

#TurksandCaicos, May 13, 2024 – Detectives of the Serious Crime Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force have charged a man who allegedly stole a vehicle.

The accused, DANVANTE  BRISCO, 30,  of  Kew Town, Providenciales, was charged with:

  • One Count: Robbery
  • One Count: Taking Motor Vehicle Without Authority
  • One Count: Using Offensive Weapon to cause fear

Mr. BRISCO appeared in court today (May 13 ) and was granted bail of $7500.00 with one surety.

The matter was adjourned to July 05 for a Sufficiency Hearing.

Dock Yard Male Charged

#TurksandCaicos, May 13, 2024 – A 20-year-old Dock Yard male appeared in court today (May 13th) charged with a series of firearm-related offences.

The accused, JAMES SIMON, was denied bail and remanded into custody pending a Sufficiency Hearing scheduled for July 05th, 2024.

Mr. SIMON faces the following charges: 

  • One Count: Robbery;
  • One Count: Gang Membership
  • One Count: Possession of a Firearm for the Benefit of a Gang
  • One Count: Possession of Ammunition for the Benefit of a Gang.

The charges against Mr. Simon followed investigations by officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force into a robbery at the parking lot of a Casino where three males robbed a victim.

Additionally, Mr. Simon is charged with the following offences, having been arrested on May 02nd, 2024, along South Dock Road.

  • One Count: Possession of a Firearm
  • One Count: Possession of Ammunition
  • One Count: Unlawful Entry

Officers also charged a teenage minor who was in the company of  Mr. Simon on May 02nd with One Count of UNLAWFUL ENTRY. 

The accused, seventeen and from Kew Town, Providenciales, pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on May 20th.
