TCI Hospital exhibits at 10th World Medical Tourism Congress

#TurksandCaicos, October 5, 2017 – Providenciales – Despite recent hurricanes, a delegation from InterHealth Canada – Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital successfully continued its participation in the 10th World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Congress as a bronze sponsor and exhibitor of the leading event in Los Angeles, California from October 2-4, 2017.

The number of persons travelling abroad to receive medical treatment is increasing by billions every year.   A range of elective surgeries are performed at TCI Hospital including private cosmetic enhancement procedures, which are typically highly sought after by medical travelers.   Under the Cosmetic Surgery Program, Board Certified Specialist Surgeons from the United States travel to the TCI on a quarterly basis to perform surgical procedures and conduct consultations.

These surgeries include Brachioplasty, Breast Augmentation, Breast Reduction, Mastopexy, Liposuction, Fat Grafting, Abdominoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Keloid Skin Revision, Skin Grafting, Rhinoplasty, Brow Lift, Facelift and Biopsy.   The formation of a successful medical tourism sector in the future can generate an alternative revenue stream for healthcare funding and create economic diversification in the TCI.

The World Medical Tourism Congress is one of the most expansive international healthcare conferences and expositions in the medical tourism industry, and attracts over 3,000 participants, 400 qualified buyers of healthcare along with industry forums and executive summits.

Canada is ranked as the top medical tourism destination overall for 2016-2017, followed by the United Kingdom, Israel, Singapore and India, respectively.   These rankings are collated via the Medial Tourism Index (MTI), which measures the perception of a destination for medical tourism.
