#Bahamas, October 9, 2017 – Nassau – Quiet heroes of Fox Hill are being celebrated in a service at St Paul’s Baptist Church today as The Bahamas marks National Heroes Day, formerly Columbus Day. It is the seventh celebration since the change in name of the public holiday and living heroes to be honoured include: Rev Dr Julia Bain; Eugenia Thurston, Darrel Moss, Garth and Mary Ferguson, Florinda Francis and Harvey Knowles.
Fr Hugh Bartlett will be guest speaker. There is to be posthumous honours for Ena Morrison-Bailey, a former Teacher at the Sandilands Primary School and her husband Nathaniel Bailey. There will also be a short march in Fox Hill to remember these heroes.
