Emancipation Day holiday marked Monday, not Aug 1

A-print-shows-African-cap-005Turks and Caicos, August 1, 2017 – Providenciales – Today, the country commemorates the abolition of slavery in the British Empire back in 1834 but instead of marking a public holiday today, it will be observed on Monday August 7.    Banks and business offices will be closed on that day to mark Emancipation Day in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
