Bahamas, June 29th 2017: Mosquito Fogging exercises have begun as an increase of mosquitoes are anticipated with the start of summer. The exercise is to be conducted by the Ministry of Environmental Health and will take to various communities and neighbourhoods across The Bahamas.
While no updated travel advisories have been issued for the region, including The Bahamas, ahead of the usual hectic summer season, health officials including the CDC in the US, remain on alert in event of possible cases.
The Bahamas Ministry of Environmental Health is urging residents to keep an ear out for community announcements on the radio for scheduled times in their neighbourhoods. The exercise is usually conducted at night, or after the sun has set, as a result, residents are asked to stay indoors.
