Providenciales, TCI, January 9, 2017 – Special Education is top of mind in the top ministry says the new Education Minister, Hon Josephine Connolly who today issued statement to welcome back to school some 6,000 students and teachers countrywide. It is the first ‘back to business’ week of the new year, and the Turks and Caicos resumes regular life with a new government at the helm.
Minister Connolly called it a great day and said her first actions will be a tour of the islands to meet students and teachers in order, she says, to hear first hand of their accomplishments and challenges.
The Minister says there will be a push to see policies, tools, training and other resources activated and there is talk of immediate movement on what she believes is a more proper Special Needs response and a Technical and Vocational curriculum to be investigated for start up. The Minister, Hon Josephine Connolly, wishes for the Education sector to see a more prosperous, productive and exhilarating 2017.
