Providenciales, TCI, December 10, 2016 – The Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands, H.E. Dr. John Freeman made his first official visit at the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board today, during his introductory tour of all government offices and statutory agencies throughout the Islands.
The Tourist Board team, lead by the newly appointed Director of Tourism, Mr. Ramon Andrews were delighted by the Governor’s meeting where all members of staff were introduced. The team led an enlightening discussion of the various roles of the staff, the role of the organization and some of the successes and challenges faced by the destination and the tourism industry.
H.E. Dr. Freeman congratulated the tourism team for being the drivers of the nation’s GDP, encouraged the team to strengthen the promotion of our Sister Islands, to improve upon the partnerships opportunities with the private sector, and committed his support to the successful implementation of the recommendations of the KPMG’s National Tourism Policy and Strategic Plan.
The tourism team presented H.E. Dr. Freeman with specialty gift bags of Turks and Caicos branded goods and other handcrafted items produced by local artisans.
