Bahamas, April 11, 2017 – Nassau – Candidates contesting in this year’s General Elections will know by tomorrow when is Nomination Day. Parliamentary Registration Department Commissioner, Sherlyn Hall, says it will publish the official notice of Election Day as well as state the date for Nomination papers to be filed.
He says all interested parties should be able to present their documents to the presiding officer on that day and reminded candidates of the documents needed for filing. He says these three documents consist of five recommendations from persons within their constituency, one document paper stating their age and address, and the third stating their liabilities, assets, bank account information, ownership of properties, as well as the same for their spouses.
Candidates will also be required to present $400 as their Election Deposit in order to contest the polls.
