#Haiti, May 29, 2024 – The man selected by Haiti’s Transitional Council is Garry Conille, who was on Wednesday morning making vows and laying out his strategy to bring Haiti back from the brink of utter democratic collapse.

To take on this role, Conille left his job at the United Nations where he served as regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Earlier this month, Mr. Conille was promoting and congratulating three Caribbean countries for being added to those certified and committed to the elimination of transmission of HIV and syphilis from mother to child.
Today, he is the man chosen to lead Haiti with is overrun by gangs and facing a humanitarian crises on an epic scale.
Six days ago on May 23, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General was addressing the dire situation on the ground in Haiti.
“You will recall that we mentioned food distributions in Cité Soleil, in the capital Port-au-Prince, in an effort to address alarming reports regarding the food security situation there. In total, some 93,000 people were reached with over 600 metric tonnes of food in the past two weeks alone.
Since early March, WFP has provided close to 900,000 hot meals – to about 100,000 people in 80 displacement sites in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area.
Our colleagues from the International Organization for Migration – IOM – tell us that, yesterday, they distributed 34,000 liters of water in three sites for displaced people in the capital.
They also continued to provide medical services through a mobile clinic in a Port-au-Prince site.”
According to media reports, Conille studied medicine and public health and is credited with re-developing the healthcare infrastructure in parts of Haiti, hardest-hit by the earthquake in Port Au Prince of 2010.
Conille has vast experience in regional and international diplomacy, having responsibility in his UN portfolio for Jamaica, Bermuda, Cayman, the Turks and Caicos and The Bahamas. He is often pictured with high level government officials from these Caribbean countries and seen attending or speaking at events aligned with regional synergy and the movement towards ensuring benchmarks are reached when it comes to the globally ratified, Sustainable Development Goals.![](https://magneticmediatv.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Garry-Conille-new-Hait-PM-2-300x200.jpg)
“From my point of view, he is not a bad person. In just a few days he came to power while Martelly was president, he proved his political ability,” said one observer keeping his eye on developments at home from nearby Turks and Caicos.
That stint ran from October 2011- May 2012.
Dr. Garry Conille is bestowed the mantle as Haiti grapples with treacherous headlines linked to the assassination of three missionaries, including a husband and wife from America; the woman is the daughter of a US Congressman. There are also, for Haiti delays in the arrival of the stabilization force, sanctioned and funded by the United Nations.
It was reported to Magnetic Media that following an inspection of the country by 50 Kenyan officials sent in ahead of the troops’ arrival, there was cited a need for armored vehicle fleet.
The missing equipment has to be installed in Haiti before the Kenyan Police land in the embattled Republic.
