#TurksandCaicos, (MAY 27, 2024) – The inaugural Turks & Caicos Islands Business Outlook (TCIBO) will take place at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa on Friday, June 7. Under the theme Opportunities for Growth and Inclusion for all TCI Stakeholders, this groundbreaking event will gather thought-leaders from various sectors to deliberate on the future economic landscape of TCI.
The event, from 8:30 am to 4 pm, will be moderated by Deandrea Hamilton, CEO & Consultant of Magnetic Media and Drexwell Seymour, Managing Partner of HLB TCI Limited.
“I am expecting that through this event all of us begin to see the opportunities that are available here in TCI and begin to embrace those opportunities. For example, tourism continues to be mainstay and is growing at a rapid rate. But many of us who are involved in the business side of tourism need to take the risk,” said Mr. Seymour.
“I’m not sure why we are not taking the risk. Perhaps we are just comfortable with the way things are going right now, afraid to take the risk, or see certain finance roadblocks. I know that access to capital is a big issue here because many people feel like the banking system doesn’t help them. However, we need more entrepreneurs who will not be afraid to take the risk and access the capital they need,” he added.
The TCIBO opening ceremony will feature the National Anthem and National Song performed by students of the A Louise Garland
High School, followed by a prayer led by Pastor Wilbert Jennings, President of the TCI Christian Council.
A highlight of the event will be the keynote address by Premier Honourable Charles Washington Misick, who is expected to set an optimistic tone by emphasizing the need for collaboration to drive sustainable growth and inclusivity in TCI.
