#TurksandCaicos, November 14, 2023 – Twenty-nine year old, DENZEL DICKENSON was allegedly busted on Wednesday September 27th, 2023 with a large quantity of American high-grade weed, which he was trying to bring into the country through the Providenciales Post Office.

Dickenson is charged with TWO COUNTS of improper or illegal importation; each package said to be 2.6 pounds totalling just over 5 pounds of the kush; described as a more expensive grade of cannabis/weed.

When the charges were read to the Department of Motor Vehicles officer on Monday November 13th, 2023, he remained quiet even when asked how he would plead in the case.

The novelty of the experience and the speechlessness of her client forced his attorney, senior defense counsel, Mrs. Lara Maroof-Misick from her seat to the back at the defendant’s dock where she advised him to plea: not guilty.  He then snapped out of his ‘shocked’ state to plead not guilty to both counts.

Denzel Dickenson was granted $10,000.00 bail to return for trial on January 23rd, 2024.

Ms. Tassja Mitchell represented the office of the DPP.
