Premier Washington Misick speaks with King Charles III

#TurksandCaicos, November 24, 2023 – Having attended a cocktail reception with the British Monarch on November 15th to celebrate his 75th birthday, Washington Misick, TCI Premier says King Charles is in great form and very interested in the overseas territories.
“The OT leaders and their delegations were invited to the Palace to join the King in celebration– we had a very small reception with only OTs and got to engage with the king,” Msick explained via the JMC Journal Radio special aired
“He was in great form; he looked really great,’ Misick maintained. “He was very engaging, he went around the room and spoke to each leader and each delegation that was there and was very keen to know what the current situations are in the OTs.”
The Premier said King Charles appeared to have detailed knowledge of what was occurring in the countries, of which he is Head of State, including the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Misick also attended the Speaker’s dinner that night, the OTs again spoke to high-ranking officials from the Justice Department and Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office during this engagement which marked the end of the high-level meetings that make up the Joint Ministerial Council.
The JMC is where Overseas Territory leaders gather to discuss pressing issues and find solutions with the United Kingdom.
