OCRS to help countries after Phillipe

October 13, 2023 – Antigua and Barbuda and Guadeloupe are getting help from the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission to return to normalcy after the damage left behind by Tropical Storm Phillipe.

The storm, as it passed over the islands, caused a lot of destruction to various forms of property and left residual effects, to which the organization referred emphasizing the reason behind its decision to help the nations. 

It spoke to the widespread flooding and outages which is has and is affecting the lives of  Antiguans, Barbudans and Guadeloupeans.

Additionally, the commission expressed it sympathizes with people who have been injured and who have had their personal property lost or damaged.

 The organization’s decision to aid the nations was announced in a press release on October 12, 2023, and it said, “the Commission provides assurances of its support to Antigua and Barbuda and Guadeloupe as they begin the process of recovery and for a speedy return to normalcy.  The Commission is committed to working with the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda and the Regional Council and people of Guadeloupe and to overcome the challenges posed by this natural disaster.”
