Additionally, residents reported a series of violent holdups last Thursday, affecting businesses and even ATMs in the usually sleepy Capital of Grand Turk. Upon receipt of the information, we reached out to the police for updates on both incidents but until news production time, no response had been forthcoming.
Our news team was told over the weekend that at least three businesses, all restaurants and bars, were hit and the robbers moved on to an ATM Safe. The multi-hit robbery spree is typical of Providenciales. On several occasions, police have been kept busy with up to four robberies in a single night where perpetrators scalp cars, money and personal items. This is highly unusual for Grand Turk.
