#TurksandCaicos, August 14, 2023 – Her matter is pushed to early next month after being called multiple times in the Magistrate’s Court; a North Caicos woman is accused to hiring illegal individuals, a crime which carries with it a heavy fine and significant sentence.

It kept being adjourned without objection by the Office of the DPP(ODPP), due to the fact the senior female accused is ongoing medical treatment and about to travel overseas for further medical care.

At the arraignment into these proceedings some weeks ago, EMILY PARKER of  North Caicos, pleaded not guilty to the charges of hiring illegal persons( EMPLOYING PROHIBITED PERSONS).

The matter was last listed for mention on Monday August 7, 2023 before the learned Chief Magistrate Jolyon Hatmin.  The accused was not present in court due to her medical conditions and her attorney Miss.  Sasha Arthur asked court to excuse her absence but advised she could appear from North Caicos via link.

The court accepted counsel’s explanation and proceeded in the Defendant’s absence.  The matter will be called again on September 4, 2023 for an update on the defendant’s medical progress and readiness for trial.

Parker is represented by attorneys from F-Chambers and the ODPP at the hearing was represented by Ms. Enjaleek Dickenson.
