#TurksandCaicos, August 18, 2023 – The Turks and Caicos Estates Management Department launched a Partnership Programme with local Landlords to foster a better working relationship with them and improve the physical work environment for public servants.

The Department manages all government-owned properties, and with the new partnership program, TCIG says they will not only host formal quarterly meetings with landlords but create a standardized complaints system for Public Servants who use these buildings.

Also, included in the partnership is a commitment to working with landlords to ensure preventative maintenance of leased properties.

The first meeting was held with landlords of Grand Turk on Thursday,  August 10th, and the program precedes the creation of an Estates Management Ordinance, which will be tabled before Cabinet by the end of this financial year.

The Government did not indicate if this project would eventually be extended to all landlords in the Turks and Caicos, but that could be a key opportunity to maintain the line of communication with private developers as the country seeks to add thousands more homes over the next two decades.
