#TurksandCaicos, April 6, 2023 – The Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR) is working with the consulting firm CBCL Engineering and Environmental Design Services, to develop a climate vulnerability and adaptive capacity matrix with focus on key social and gender-based vulnerabilities. In addition, CBCL are conducting an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for three coastal protection developments to mitigate any negative social and environmental impacts of the proposed works.

These three coastal protection projects are being done in TCI in Providenciales, Grand Turk, and Salt Cay. As a part of the study a questionnaire about this work is being circulated to obtain comments and feedback from community members and business owners in the Turks and Caicos.

The survey will CBCL to better mitigate any negative environmental and social impacts, while also ensuring that the solution is beneficial for users.

The DECR would greatly appreciate it if members of the public could complete the survey and also share with others in Turks and Caicos Islands.
