December 15, 2022 – At least three people have been killed and millions more are affected across the US and Canada as a major winter storm moves over the countries.  Chunks of the US weather map, especially the North East were highlighted in pinks, reds and purples on Thursday representing all the blizzard, ice and winter warnings that are in place as the country remains in the throes of the storm.

Further south severe storms with strong tornadoes and heavy rain with flash flooding continued; Florida especially is bracing for the possibility of freak tornadoes.

One of those tornadoes caused two of the three casualties when a Louisiana mother, Yoshiko Smith and her 8-year-old son Nikolus Little were picked up and thrown half a mile away from their home.

North, the arctic blast has made traveling impossible in some areas and will continue through this Friday the National Weather Service is predicting.  The northern US is expecting between four to 12 inches of snow.  Some states including Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia are under ice storm warnings.

New York and Pennsylvania are expecting as much as six inches of the white stuff.

Media reports say the storm could affect nearly every state in the massive country.  Millions of residents will be affected and thousands of flights were delayed and canceled through to Thursday as families reported having to sleep on the ground in airports overnight.
