#TurksandCaicos, February 9, 2022 – In unpacking a back pack of one of the migrants who landed illegally at Ambergris Cay last Thursday, found was a homemade firearm and ammunition.  It was a shocking discovery confirmed in a January 29 police report, which said a test will be carried out to determine if the firearm is a viable weapon and who actually owned that gun.

Though there is a suspect whom authorities are addressing in a video, which exposed the moment the suspected gun was found, the police report strongly implies that there is no concrete link of the suspect to the now infamous bag. That would have to be established in order to file a charge or hold someone responsible.

According to an official statement from the Immigration Department, the speed boat carrying the migrants made a stop in Ambergris Cay and then in North West Point Provo. However, nothing is said about what activity there was in Provo.

Also, a recent police escapee is being tied to this illegal entry. A wanted poster was in circulation, Police asking for help in finding Luciano Paul of Haiti.

Paul has since been captured and is facing the court this week on three charges:  Unlawful Entry, Escaping Custody and Assault on a Police officer.
