#TurksandCaicos, February 16, 2022 – TCI Tourism officials and police have been in direct communication in acts of benevolence with the group of visitors, whose Friday evening went from happy to horrified after they were attacked by a lone gunman trying to steal a lady’s purse.

The incident occurred on February 4, in a Grace Bay area parking lot.

Magnetic Media has learned that Tourism Minister, Josephine Connolly and TCI Tourist Board Director, Pamela Ewing had visited with the victims.

The guests, left the country mere days after the male victim, said to be in his 60s and from Massachusetts was shot in the upper body. He was released Saturday from the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in stable condition.

It’s said the handbag which was the target of a lone gunman, was recovered, but that’s not confirmed.

Bushes flanking the popular Princess Lane parking lot, which sits between the Sibonne and Somerset resorts have since been trimmed.

The incident sent shockwaves around the country. Police have asked for help in the case; the suspect, however, remains at large.
