#TurksandCaicos, December 15, 2021 – The Turks and Caicos Human Rights Commission held its 4th annual Humanitarian Award show on Saturday. The show was highly anticipated as tickets sold out as early as November 25th.

The guest of honor and winner of the Humanitarian of the Year Award was Mr. Stan Hartling. Hartling, who is CEO of the Hartling Group, has been working at the community level for over 25 years and was presented with a video tribute as well as having a song dedicated to him at the event.

Mr. Hartling, developer of Providenciales located resorts: the Sands, the Palms and Shore Club has hosted several charitable functions around the TCI including “In the Pink” which is in support of the National Cancer Society.

Stan Hartling also sponsors various charity organizations including Provo Children’s Home, the Salvation Army and the Edward C. Gartland Youth Center.  A race car enthusiast, which he also uses to promote the Turks and Caicos Islands, Hartling is a founding member of “Boys to Men” a mentorship group aimed at supporting young men aged 12 to 21.

Mr. Hartling was also lauded for bringing joy back into the tourism industry during the pandemic at a time when work was scarce and the future uncertain. His idea for a song and music video titled, “Hope is on the Way” got his staff involved – albeit virtually – with Grammy Award winning reggae artist, Gramps Morgan.  The video, filmed at his resorts and featuring his team went viral during the pandemic.

The Humanitarian Award ceremony is held in commemoration of World Human Rights Day, and has become an anticipated holiday gala.  It was held at the Shore Club.
