#TurksandCaicos, December 15, 2021 – A hefty sentence on December 8 for the two men convicted of a night of crime of a most heinous and shocking nature; guilty verdicts came for both Andrew Parker and Shavez Musgrove since Friday December 3.

Jurors decided the men were guilty after nine weeks of trial where they heard about the kidnapping of three residents of Providenciales in July 2017.  How the two women were gang raped and how their male friend, also kidnapped, was forced at gunpoint to also participate in their rape.

The guilty verdict was predicated on the DNA evidence found in condoms from the crime scene and at the scene of the crime itself.

Supreme Court Justice Carlos Simons, QC sentenced Parker and Musgrove  to 15 years for rape, 15 years for possession of imitation firearm and 10 years for kidnapping… the imitation firearm and rape convictions will run consecutively and equates to 25 years in the Department of Corrections for each young man.

Attorneys for the duo, Finbar Grant and Ashwood Forbes have planned to appeal the convictions.

Andrew Parker and Shavez Musgrove, allegedly had a third accomplice in the disturbing crime.  That man was never arrested or brought to trial.
