BAHAMAS: News Item on Tropical Depression 3

#Nassau, July 23, 2019 – Bahamas – NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL DEPRESSION THREE ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT 11:00 P.M. EDT MONDAY, 22NDJULY, 2019.

AT 11:00 P.M. EDT…THE CENTER OF TROPICAL THREE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 26.1 °NORTH AND LONGITUDE 79.3° WEST OR ABOUT 26 MILES NORTH OF ALICE TOWN, BIMINI AND 47 MILES SOUTHWEST OF FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION THREE IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 10 MPH. A TURN TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST IS EXPECTED OVERNIGHT FOLLOWED BY A TURN TOWARD THE NORTH AND NORTH-NORTHEAST ON TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT.  ON THE FORECAST TRACK, THE CENTER OF THE DEPRESSION SHOULD REMAIN JUST OFFSHORE OF THE EAST COAST OF FLORIDA OVER THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 30 MILES PER HOUR (MPH) WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  NO SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN STRENGTH IS ANTICIPATED AND THE DEPRESSION IS FORECAST TO DISSIPATE BY WEDNESDAY.
