TCI: Customs Information for Importers

#Providenciales, February 21, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – The Senior management team of the Turks and Caicos Islands Customs Department would like to encourage the general public, and in particular the importer population to visit our newly updated website at www.customs.gov.tc.

Our website contains pertinent information that you may need, to assist you in the importation process. The Customs Tariff which prescribes the duty rates of commodities is accessible from the site and is user friendly. For example, if you would like to know the duty percentage assigned to a particular commodity, enter the name of the specific commodity, click search, and the assigned duty percentage will appear.

We also encourage you to use our Duty Calculator. It is located at the top right hand corner of the home page symbolised by the calculator icon. The calculator will assist you with assessing the amount of duty owed on your shipments. You must select a commodity and enter the value and freight, and the Duty and Customs Processing Fee will be calculated.

To the right of the home page you will find other useful information such as our Customs Ordinance, information on Prohibited and Restricted Imports, requirements under our mandatory cash declarations, basic information for the travelling public, and current updates etc. Additionally, you may view the full list of Customs Duty Exemptions, which includes qualifying criterion.
