Alleged hit man in custody, swift action to protect coral reef

#TurksandCaicos, May 29, 2018 – Providenciales – An alleged, suspected hitman is in Police custody after being arrested on Sunday.  The details are limited in the case but it is explained the 37-year old man is held for extortion and possible murder for hire.

Swift action and a serious fine leveled at a man charged with damaging a coral reef plant in Turks and Caicos waters.  The man was arrested on Friday and taken to court today for breaking the law, which charges him with:  ‘Breaking and Causing Damage to Coral Reef or Marine Plant within the Fishery limits contrary to Regulations 9(1) of the Fisheries Protection Ordinance, Chapter 10.08.’  The Police report also explained that the man was also charged with the ‘Destruction or Damage to any animal or plant Contrary to Regulation 3(1) of the National Parks Ordinance Chapter 10.01.’ Bail was on Friday set at $10,000 for the violator.

Police also report that, officers in Grand Turk are investigating a Burglary that was reported to 911 on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at 7:05 a.m.   According to reports, upon arriving home, the female complainant met her home ransacked.  Missing were two 75inch Televisions.
