#TurksandCaicos, April 30, 2018 – Providenciales – Following the successful promotion of former Tax Officers Natasha Ewing and Ruthann Gardiner last year to the posts of Senior Tax Officers within the Ministry of Finance, the Turks and Caicos Islands Government is pleased to announce the appointments of Ms. Condisa Ewing and Ms. Yelena Roberts to the role of Tax Officers in the Turks and Caicos Islands Providenciales Revenue Department and Ms. Kristen Brown to the role Senior Tax Officer within the Grand Turk Department, which previously fell vacant due to a transfer to another quasi government agency.
Ms. Ewing holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Management from Everest University formally Florida Metropolitan University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. With nearly 15 years’ experience in the Finance Industry. She began as a Outwards Payments Processing Officer at Barclays Bank now renamed First Caribbean International Bank prior to leaving for University. After returning home she continued in the Finance Industry as a Business Support Officer with the International Banking Group and then joined the team at the Royal Bank of Canada where she held various roles such as Teller, before being promoted to Operations Support Officer within the Sales Department and later the Client Assistant Officer.
While Ms. Roberts, who holds a Bachelors of Science degree from the New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, Rhode Island now located East Greenwich, Rhode Island, previously served as File Clerk at Scotia Bank, Guest Relation Liaison Officer at Alexandra, Financial Administrator at the TCI Red Cross and has served as the Administrative officer for the Revenue Department within the Ministry of Finance since August 2016.
Ms. Brown completed her studies at the Turks & Caicos Islands Community College, obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Studies with specialization in Finance and Management. Prior to this appointment she worked with the Financial Services Commission since 1998 as a Temporary Clerical Officer, in 1999 earning the title of Data Processor, then Revenue Officer, Examiner/Administrative Clerk, Senior Insurance Administrator and in 2015 was promoted to Insurance Analyst/Supervisor in the International Insurance Unit.
Ms. Brown has also participated in the CFATF XLIV Plenary Meeting that was hosted in Providenciales and also was given the opportunity to attend seminars such as Anti-Money Laundering Training Seminar and Regional Insurance Workshop Kingstown, St. Vincent.
Commenting on these appointments Deputy Governor Anya Williams stated; “Congratulations is extended to all three ladies on their recent appointments and promotion. During their tenure as Tax Officers and Senior Tax Officer they will have the opportunity to work in all three sections of the Revenue Department: Compliance, Business Licencing and Audit and Investigation which represents vital components of TCIG’s day to day operations.

Ms. Ewing, Ms. Roberts and Ms. Brown will play vital roles in the collection, monitoring and enforcement of TCIG revenues and we are happy to have them as a part of our team as we continue to build on the successes of the Revenue Department which is highly efficient and has made great strides in the area of collection and enforcement over the years.”
