Electricity restoration continues for Puerto Rico, Fluor sends in 1,800 workers

#PuertoRico, January 17, 2018 – Fluor Corporation in an effort jointly supported by FEMA and the US Army Corp of Engineers has made a major stride this week in electricity restoration to more Puerto Ricans left powerless after September 2017s Hurricane Maria.   Fluor this week reports that it has more than 1,800 people on the island dedicated to the restoration of electricity.

The expertise of Fluor will enable ongoing efforts to help sustain economic recovery on the island.  A media statement said:  The completion of two 115kv transmission lines allows the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) to re-energize lines in a major urban center that will carry electricity to large neighborhoods, churches, pharmacies, a retirement home and The Outlet Mall 66.
