WOMAN ARRESTED ATTEMPTING TO SMUGGLE DRUGS INTO BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
An adult female is in custody after she was arrested at the Bahamas Department of Corrections for possession of dangerous drugs on Friday 29th September 2017.
Reports are that shortly before 12:00noon, the adult female was detained by Bahamas Department of Corrections officials after they uncovered a quantity of marijuana concealed in a dinner plate she brought at that facility for an inmate. The police was notified and the woman was subsequently taken into custody.
TWO MALES, ONE ON BAIL FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER IN CUSTODY FOR AN ILLEGAL GUN
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Central Division officers seized a firearm and several rounds of ammunition after a vehicle occupied by two males was stopped and searched on Friday 29th September 2017.
Illegal handgun seized 2 Reports are that shortly before 9:00pm Central Division officers were on routine foot patrol in the area of Parliament and Bay Streets, when two males in a Nissan Sentra was signaled to stop.
The vehicle was searched and the firearm, a Smith and Wesson pistol with two magazines containing 26 rounds of ammunition were found. The two males were subsequently taken into custody. Police can confirm that one of the males is being electronically monitored and on bail for attempted murder.
MALE IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG POSSESSION
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Central Division officers seized a quantity of dangerous drugs after a vehicle occupied by an adult male was stopped and searched on Friday 29th September 2017.
Reports are that shortly before 9:00pm Central Division officers were on routine foot patrol on Prince George Wharf, when they intercepted a Honda vehicle driven by an adult male. The male was accosted and during a search of the vehicle a quantity of marijuana was found. The male were subsequently taken into custody.
TWO MEN ARRESTED IN FOILED ARMED ROBBERY
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Southern Division officers took two adult males into custody following a foiled attempted armed robbery of a local store on Friday 29th September 2017.
Reports are that shortly after 8:00pm, two adult males armed with a switchblade knife entered a convenience store located on East Street near Plantol Street and demanded cash. The store owner along an employee sprung into action and subdued the two robbers. The police were notified and the two suspects were taken into custody.
