Three men charged

Turks and Caicos, June 30th 2017 – Providenciales – Three men who attempted to rob the Provo Cash and Carry have been charged with robbery and remaining on the islands beyond the permitted time.

According to police reports, around 8:00pm on Monday 19th June, three men including an employee of the store, ages 24, 36, and 50 entered the grocery store on Leeward Highway via its roof.

The men were armed with knives and demanded cash from the female owner, who at the time, was in her office after the store was closed. They stole a large amount of money then attempted to escape but fell from the ceiling. Witnesses then called the police and the suspects were remanded.

The men will now appear before the Supreme Court to answer the charges on August 4th 2017.  The victim did not sustain any injuries.
