Turks and Caicos, 03rd June 2025 – The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) Marine Operations and Training Unit is pleased to share the successful completion of the RNLI Atlantic 85 Rescue and RHIB Maintenance Training.
This critical training was made possible through funding from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and is part of a broader effort to enhance maritime safety and operational readiness across UK Overseas Territories.
The Atlantic 85 rescue vessels were delivered to Montserrat, Anguilla, and the Turks and Caicos
Islands, reinforcing the UK Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening regional search and rescue capabilities.
During the training, participants gained essential knowledge and skills, including:
- Pre and post-sail inspection procedures
- Routine maintenance and accurate record-keeping
- Technical training in engine systems, electrical and hydraulics, and jet-drive mechanisms
- Safe operation of the Atlantic 85 vessel
The RT&CIPF extends our heartfelt thanks to the RNLI instructors, the FCDO, and all partner agencies for their continued support and investment in maritime response training.
This signifies another milestone in enhancing the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of our marine operations—and ultimately, in saving lives at sea.
