St. Vincent and the Grenadines, March 8, 2025 – The world will celebrate women and their achievements on March 8, International Women’s Day. In observance, we will salute a remarkable woman from St. Vincent and the Grenadines who continues to make contributions to the development of her communities.
Today we feature Ronita Ollivierre.
Ronita Ollivierre of La Pompe, Bequia is a passionate Agriculturist and Aquaculturist. She started Seamoss cultivation as an ordinary training session but later realized that this helped cater to her needs. It became her therapy, love, cure and her entire family could be a part of.
As the owner of Ocean Remedies, her business(Seamoss cultivation and value added production) focuses on harnessing the bounty of the ocean while promoting sustainability and healing through marine resources.
Her work emphasizes the importance of preserving aquatic ecosystems while providing valuable products that benefit both people and the planet.
Ronita has a strong commitment to social entrepreneurship, and she has dedicated to not just cultivating food but also to fostering community empowerment through responsible and environmentally-friendly practices.
The young business woman faces several challenges including availability of resources and opportunities, Climate change and its impacts and being a woman of many roles.
However, with a deep understanding of agriculture and aquaculture, Ronita aims to effectively bridge traditional practices with modern techniques, ensuring that her initiatives not only thrive but also support the well-being of the communities she serves.
Ronita would like to see women become not only the leading change agents but be the game changer that is socially impactful.
Thank you Ronita and we wish you many successes in your business
