Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands: Please be advised that all spas providing services that are deemed health services within the Turks and Caicos Islands are required to register as a Medical Spa and obtain a license from the Health Regulation Authority (HRA) under the Health Regulation Ordinance (2016) as amended by the Health Regulation (Amendment) Ordinance (2023).
For your reference, a medical spa is defined by the HRA as “an entity that provides medical or health or wellness care in an environment that integrates traditional spa services with alternative and cosmetic medical treatment and therapies.”
In accordance with the provisions outlined in the Health Regulation (Amendment) Ordinance (2023), the only legally allowable services to be provided by medical spas within the Turks and Caicos Islands are:
- Micro-needling
- Radio Frequency (RF) treatments
- Laser treatments
- Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
- Cryotherapy
- Intravenous (IV) therapy
It has come to our attention that some spas currently operating under the business license category ‘Spa/Massage Parlors and Body Works’ may be offering health services other than those outlined above. We strongly advise all deemed to be medical spas to immediately cease and desist from providing any unauthorized services, including but not limited to Botox and fillers.
Failure to comply with this notice may result in enforcement action, including suspension of operations and/or revocation of licenses.
For further information, clarification, or guidance, please do not hesitate to contact the Health Regulation Authority at the following:
Telephone: (649) 338-4924;
Email: info@hra.gov.tc
We urge all medical spas to cooperate fully with the HRA to ensure compliance with the regulations and to maintain the highest standards of care for the public.
