Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands 20th February 2025 – In a decisive step toward strategic leadership and informed decision-making, Honorable Zhavargo Jolly, the newly appointed Minister of Tourism, Environment, Heritage, Fisheries, Agriculture and Gaming, convened a joint Heads of Department briefing on Monday, 17th February. The meeting provided an opportunity for Minister Jolly to gain a high-level understanding of key departmental operations, ongoing projects, and resource requirements across his portfolio.
Attendees included the Permanent Secretary, two Deputy Secretaries, and the heads of the following departments:
- Tourism
- Environment and Coastal Resources
- Agriculture
- Gaming
- Fisheries
During the briefing, Minister Jolly reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Turks and Caicos Islanders are the primary beneficiaries of the nation’s economic growth, particularly within the tourism sector.
“This is not just about understanding the numbers or the projects. It’s about seeing firsthand how we can better serve our people and ensure they are the true beneficiaries of our nation’s prosperity. I am here to listen, to learn, and to lead,” said Minister Jolly.
As part of his hands-on approach, Minister Jolly will be visiting each department to gain an on-the-ground perspective. These visits will allow him to witness firsthand the challenges and opportunities faced by each team, ensuring that future policies and initiatives are both practical and impactful.
This joint briefing marks the beginning of Minister Jolly’s proactive leadership approach, fostering alignment across all departments while prioritising the needs and interests of Turks and Caicos Islanders.
