Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selveratnam

TCI Governor

“The central act has shaken our community to its core, leaving family’s friends and loved ones in immense pain.  The premier and I met with family members of Mr. Dario Stubbs. We are also providing support to the family of American, Shamone Duncan during this unimaginably difficult time. While nothing can undo these tragedies, we are committed to ensuring that both families have assistance.

I know that frustration is growing and understandably, we are all concerned with violence and the fear it breeds, but this is not a time for division. It is a time for unity and determination as a community. We must stand together, support one another and demand accountability… These incidents are deeply distressing. Let us remain vigilant together.”

Hon C. Washington Misick

TCI Premier (PNP)

“The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands’ Police Force is aggressively investigating this incident gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event and to ensure the community’s safety. Timely updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. I want to assure all citizens that every recourse is being taken to bring those responsible to swift justice.

…we remain steadfast in our commitment to the safety and security of every resident and every visitor to reassure us in times like these.  We must come together and show compassion and support to one another.  Let us honor the memories of those we have lost by ensuring that their lives are not forgotten, and that their loss strengthens our determination to overcome these challenges.”

Hon Edwin Astwood

TCI Opposition Leader (PDM)

“Grace Bay, a hub of tourism and a symbol of the Turks and Caicos Islands’ beauty, is now stained by violence that threatens not only the safety of our residents and visitors but also the very foundation of our economy. Incidents like these cast a shadow over our reputation as a safe, world-class destination and could have devastating consequences for our tourism industry.

Let us stand united as a community in support of the victims, their families, and all those impacted by these senseless acts of violence. Therefore, we must join hands in solidarity to demand accountability, justice, and change. We must not forget to turn to God both in the good and bad times; for he promises never to leave nor forsake us.

Together, with God, we can make a difference and build a community where everyone can thrive and feel safe.”
