FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas — On Thursday, December 12, 2024, residents of the Heritage community in Grand Bahama gathered to celebrate the official opening of Heritage Park — a new space designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and residents.
In attendance to celebrate this special occasion were the Hon. Ginger Moxey, Minister for Grand Bahama and MP for Pineridge, along with other government officials, community leaders, and residents of the Pineridge community.

Heritage Park is part of a broader vision to revitalize Pineridge, with Minister Moxey highlighting it as a key initiative within the community to achieve community revitalization, restoration and ensure that there are safe spaces and safe environments for kids to play in.

The Minister also expressed her appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the government and others in bringing Heritage Park to life and making its official opening possible.
Pharez Rolle, Assistant to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Grand Bahama, reiterated a vision of the Davis Administration: “One of its key mandates is to provide public parks throughout the islands of The Bahamas. Why? Because parks are where we reconnect as a community, with each other, and with nature,” he said.
He added, “Heritage Park starts as a shining example of progress, and it belongs to you, the residents of this great community.”
The official opening of Heritage Park is one of many initiatives the Davis Administration has undertaken to revitalize Grand Bahama by restoring and developing parks, creating safe spaces where adults and children can make memories, friends can gather, and communities can grow stronger.
