MINISTRY OF PHYSICAL PLANNING AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, 1st October 2024 – The Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development is pleased to announce its recent visit to South Caicos, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing infrastructure and development in the islands. This pivotal trip marks the establishment of an official office presence in South Caicos and included initiatives aimed at contractor training, community engagement, and stakeholder collaboration, and Project inspections.
During the visit, the Ministry officials conducted a comprehensive training program for local contractors, emphasizing best practices in construction, project management, and regulatory compliance. This training aims to equip local contractors with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute effectively to ongoing and future development projects in South Caicos.
Deputy Premier and Minister of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Jamell Robinson, commenting on the visit stated: “The establishment of an office presence in South Caicos reflects our dedication to fostering sustainable development and ensuring that local contractors are well-equipped to meet the demands of our growing infrastructure needs.” “By investing in our local workforce, we are not only stimulating the economy but also ensuring that our projects are delivered with quality and efficiency.”
In addition to the training, the Ministry engaged in meaningful discussions with stakeholders, including community leaders, local business owners, and residents.
