Superintendent (Division B and Community Policing) Dwight Gardiner said the operations formed part of a strategic plan to combat illegal activities in the TCI by increasing law enforcement’s visibility on the island’s roadways.

“These checkpoints disrupt criminal activities and enforce traffic laws. Many vehicles lack updated insurance and proper plates and have illegal tints.

“Our nighttime operations remain roving in hot spot districts, and we ask motorists to please dim their high beams when approaching traffic checkpoints.

“The public is kindly asked to comply with all instructions of law enforcement personnel, especially when stopped and questioned. Your assistance is essential, and the RT&CIPF thanks you for your cooperation. Please, be responsible on the nation’s roads and obey the speed limits.”

We are advising persons to notify the closest police station, contact 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 and provide any information on illegal activities anonymously.

Persons can also download the P3 app and give information.
