The only identity is that the man was known as, “Black” and he was shot to death in Providenciales, marking the ninth murder so far this year in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Police are now searching for the motive behind the murder of a man, found lifeless in Five Cays on Monday March 18.

While there is speculation about what led to the man’s death, police say they are busy working on the motive for the killing and the identity of the victim.

A Monday night police report exposed that they got the call at 9:17pm; that’s when they found the man – described as a Haitian – already dead.  .The man was clad in long blue pants and a black t-shirt and images of the body, circulated on social media, raise questions because missing from the scene was any copious amount of blood usually associated with gunshots.

The position of the body was also peculiar; twisted and it appears it could have fallen from a significant height. Parts of his clothing appeared to be soaked by what could have been blood, and there was a small trickle near his hands. All in all, it is a mysterious killing which the surrounding community says they nothing much about.

One person told Magnetic Media that the man was known as an on-the-road merchant, selling colognes and perfumes from his car.
