Mysterious & Unexplained Deaths in TCI open in Coroner’s Court this week

#TurksandCaicos, March 21, 2024 – The Monday March 18, Coroner’s Court heard matters from 2018 including:  an inquest into the toxic fumes related death of EVILYN SYLVAIN; the opening of an inquest hearing in relation to a drug toxicity related death of RAVI BISHT SINGH.

From the year 2021matters included: the motor vehicle collision death of OPHELIA SMITH TALBOT  listed for inquiry; also listed for further hearing is the drowning death incident of HOWARD KANE and from 2022, a drowning incident matter is listed for a “JOHN DOE # 3”.

Coronial Matters for Tuesday March 19 involved a staggering, 14 “John Does.”  These were “exposure” related deaths and includes four unidentified decedents, and they, too, are exposure related deaths.

One 2023 motor vehicle incident of a JOHN DOE was also listed on the Tuesday.

Wednesday at the Coroner’s Court included one 2020 matter; the motor vehicle death of SHEQUIDA LAKIER COX.

Today, Thursday March 21st, there are two matters before Coroner’s Court judge – Hon. Mickia Mills namely:  one of KATHLIN COX, a drowning incident. This is listed for opening inquest.   The other case for further hearing is that of NICHOLAS TWYMAN. The death is of blunt force injury.

On the Friday docket are five drowning incidents.

A 2018 drowning incident case of ROBERT MARC MCDOWELL listed for inquest opening; continuation of the case of KATHLIN COX in a 2018 drowning incident; MICHAEL VONLUERTE, a 2019 drowning incident is fixed for opening inquest; the 2023 ROSHAWN COX drowning incident and a 2024 “JANE DOE NO.1” drowning incident matter is listed for inquest opening as well.
